PURPOSE OF ART:

The purpose of art classes is not only to teach a person, methods, techniques and skill.
There is much more to art than the ability to create the illusionof third dimension.
Art classes should stimulate visual awareness and get the right side of the brain working ( imagination and lateral thinking ).
In a time where our children get bombarded with multimedia visuals ( playstation and cartoon network), our children loose the ability to play creatively and become left-brain dominated.
Through art, a person becomes aware of his ownindividualism and uniqueness.
Artwork can improve your self image and self value.
Art is a tool to communicate and to self express.
My aim is to expose my pupils in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere to the process of creation. I want to make them aware of art elements, design principles, mediums and skills in an informal approach.
For many of you, I hope my classroom will be a place to relax and escape everyday's pressure.
